Knox's 1st Easter 2014

We enjoyed the beautiful Easter weekend celebrating our Risen Savior! Here are some pictures from the weekend!
Happy 1st Easter Knox!

And again...

After church and lunch, we went over to Adam's grandmother's house. Mamaw Harris loved on Knox!
Finally got to break out the Baby Bjorn. Adam, Knox, Lulu, Pookie, and I went for a walk that afternoon. The weather was perfect for it!
Easter plate I made to document Knox's first Easter. Thank you Pinterest! It's cute. However if I could do it over, I'd pick different colors. I don't care much at all for the ones I used. I was going to re-do it, but if you only knew how hard it was to get those footprints! But, would you look at those sweet feet!!!

1 Month Old

Knox is 1 month old today!
1 MONTH OLD!

I'll go ahead and say it....I can't believe it has been a month already since he was born! It truly makes me sad to look back at the pictures since the day he was born. I don't want my baby to grow up, but unfortunately he has to and he is! He has changed so much already and is growing like a weed!

At 4 weeks old 1 month:
(I was informed you celebrate the "months" by the date of each month, but his age is still in weeks. Confusing right?)

Knox is in size 1 diapers. They are a little big, but the newborn size is just too small. They were cutting in to his legs. And you know I had to document with a photo...
Last newborn diaper.
Look, he even looks uncomfortable!
First size 1 diaper.
I'm still not sure he is comfortable, but the diaper looks much better!
He is still wearing some newborn clothes and has moved in to the 0-3 months size. Again, it depends on what the outfit it.

Baby acne = practically gone.

His hair looks like it's getting lighter. In the sun, it almost has a red tint to it. I have some bronze in my hair so I suppose that came from me.

We still can't tell what color eyes he is going to have. Some days they look gray which leads me to think he will have hazel/bluish eyes like me, but then most days they just look dark which makes me think they will be brown like Adam's. I guess time will tell...

I don't have a weight or length, but I know he is growing! We will find out in another month at his next doctor's appointment.

He is still exclusively breastfeeding about every 3-4 hours. Although, I had to break down and give him a bottle last night. Long story short, I over-pumped (I've been trying to "pump and save" for when I go back to work.) and I could tell he wasn't getting much from me and was starving. He only got a tiny bottle with about 10 mL in it just to satisfy him a few hours until my body could catch up and feed him. Of course I documented this occasion too with a photo and a video. He didn't really like it and I am secretly happy about that!
First tiny bottle
He grunts when he wakes up and stretches. It's hilarious!

He likes to be held...that's partly my fault, but I can't help it!

He loves baths!

He like his gym. And I think his daddy does too!
Daddy and Knox playing in the gym.
I shouldn't say this, but he has the cutest little poots!

He's starting to smile a lot more! :)

Overall, he is still a good baby! We are getting spoiled by him!

Here are some more pics just because...
This was from the first day momma tried to take Knox shopping in Oxford alone. It was pretty successful. We made it to 2 of 3 places I wanted to go.
Just us!

Just plain sweet!
So serious... but I am awesome like my daddy!
Ah! My sleeping angel! I just can't get enough of him when he is sleeping!
So sweet! So peaceful!
Daddy and Knox again. When he's out, he's out!
In other news, I'm still working on his birth story and a few other posts. Hope to post them this week!

Knox's First Trip to Auburn... Sort of

Okay so maybe we didn't go to "Auburn", but we were close enough that I wanted to document the trip and because my whole family made the trip which is such a rarity that we are all able to be at the same place at the same time.

Since I have one brother in Atlanta, another in Auburn, my parents live in Troy, and Adam and I in Clay County, it's hard for all of us to get together. I mentioned having dinner in Auburn and luckily it all worked out that everyone could come. We ate at Cock of the Walk which one of our favorite restaurants in Opelika. With the new babies, maybe we will have a reason to get together more often! :)

3 Weeks Old

Knox is 3 weeks old today and I FINALLY was able to catch a smile on camera! I love my sweet boy's smile! Kinda makes you wonder what a 3 week old could possibly smile about?
Yesterday was Knox's first doctor's appointment. We saw Dr. Hamm at Vestavia Pediatrics for his first wellness exam. I was a little nervous to see how much weight he had gained. Since I am breastfeeding and he hasn't been weighed since we left the hospital, I was anxious to see just how much he had grown.

He weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 21.75 inches long. Long and lean. Not sure who he got that from?  Dr. Hamm said he looked wonderful. His next visit will be at 8 weeks for the dreaded immunizations.

Head circumference
Then, the foot prick :(
Dr. Hamm checking him out. I don't even know why he was crying.
He didn't do anything but a quick physical exam.
Ready to go home.
At 3 weeks:
As I stated earlier, he weighs 8 lbs 7 oz and is 21.75 inches long.

He is still wearing newborn diapers and mostly newborn clothes although the other day I had to put a 0-3 month size on him because the footed outfits are too short when he stretches out.  The 0-3 month swallowed his body, but at least he was more comfortable length wise.

He is still eating about every 4 hours and wakes up 1-2 times a night to eat depending on what time his last feeding was in the evening.

His baby acne is much better and slowly disappearing. I changed to Cetaphil to wash his face. I don't know if it actually made a difference or if it's just going away on its own, but his face definitely looks much better.

His hair looks like its getting lighter.

We still don't know about his eye color.

Not that I have anything to compare to, but he is such a good baby so far.  He eats good. He sleeps good. He isn't colic. We have been spoiled. Our next child will probably be a terror.

As for me, I am doing great and enjoying my sweet boy as much as I can before I have to go back to work in June. That seems so far away, but the time is going by quickly. I can't believe Knox is 3 weeks old already!

Luckily, I didn't really have any postpartum emotional issues with this pregnancy. However, on the way home from the hospital and the first few days we were home, I would just look at Knox and start crying. I just felt feel so unworthy of being blessed with such a little miracle. He is perfect to me and I truly cannot believe God has allowed me to be his mother. My parents came and stayed for a few days when we got home and I also cried when they left. I couldn't have done it without my mom here to help me. She did our laundry and fixed our meals. She taught me how to bathe Knox and helped me breastfeed. She encouraged me every step. So yep I cried like a baby (no pun intended) when they were gone.

As for my weight, I roughly gained somewhere around 40-45 lbs. The first 30 lbs came off quickly. I had so much fluid to lose. Now, I am stuck with the last 15 lbs. I know it has only been 3 weeks so hopefully when I start exercising again, I will lose it. However, I've decided I'm okay with this size. I tried to put on my pre-pregnancy pants and honestly don't know how I was that small? Of course, before I got pregnant I didn't think I was skinny. How perspective changes... I'm not sure I will ever fit in those pants again, but I'm okay with that. I just need to be healthy for my little guy!

And just because... I can't get enough of him.

This is the closest Lulu has gotten to Knox so far. She really just ignores him.
