LET'S PLAY CATCH-UP!

I'm still here I promise. I have some a lot of catching up to do. Over the last few months, I have been so busy as usual... trying to finish up pharmacy school, which I did, YESTERDAY! More on that later. I guess for this post I'll just start where I left off in February/March. Here are the highlights of the last few months.

FEBRUARY
Adam and I attended "Couples Game Night" at our friends Zack and Samantha's house. We all bring food and play games. It usually gets pretty loud since we are all pretty competitive, but it's so fun and FUNNY!

MARCH
In March, I ran in a 5K in Troy to raise scholarship money for the Troy Junior Women's League. It was started in honor of one of it's members Brittany Shepard Pugh who passed away along with her 1 year old son, Shep, last March in a car accident. I came to know Brittany through a friend, Clint, who I went to school with growing up. She and Clint met in college at Troy and got married. Brittany was one of the most beautiful (inside and out) and funniest people so its no surprise they started a scholarship fund and race in her name. I got to see and catch up with old friends from high school. It was a huge success. I'm looking forward to next year's race already!

APRIL
In April, Elena and I ran in another 5K in Auburn. It started at Toomers Corner and ended on the 50 yard line in Jordan Hare Stadium.

They also had a 1 mile fun run and a 10 K.

We celebrated Easter of course.

And lastly in April, I attended a women's conference in Birmingham. It was really good. They had so many great singers and speakers like MercyMe, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter (the couple from The Vow),  Candace Cameron Bure (DJ Tanner from Full House), Sarah Palin, and so many others. I hope I get to go back next year!

MAY
And now we are in May. I worked at Wal-Mart in Troy at the beginning of May to finish up some hours for school.

Adam and I went to another game night at The Baggett's appropriately themed for Cinco de Mayo.

And lastly so far in May, I GRADUATED yesterday! I'm saving that for a post of its own coming next.

So, that pretty much sums up the last few months. :)

TaDaaaa

TaDaaaa!
At least that's what I felt like the person was saying to me when my wedding dress somehow crammed in to this cardboard box was handed over to me. I'm really not sure how it all fit and I really hope I don't open it one day to find the skirt missing or something!

I decided I wanted to have my wedding dress preserved during the wedding planning process when my mom and I were looking at hers and how it had aged and discolored. I couldn't have worn any piece of it if I wanted to, but I was able to take some lace from her veil for my bouquet. A few weeks and a couple hundred dollars later, (Yes, can you believe that? I told Adam I was in the wrong profession.) it was ready to be picked up at the place I had it preserved in Birmingham. I thought they did a great job based on the appearance, but only time will truly tell if the preservation really works. You probably can't tell in the photo, but my veil is laying over my dress as well. So, it's all in there should I have a daughter and in my dreams God-willing she wants to wear it or some part of it. It also came with some fancy schmancy gloves to wear in case I ever want to take it out of the box.

This was the first time I put on the dress. As you can tell, I was loving it and knowing it was the one!

A few months later, my actual dress came in and this was the second time I put it on. I was still loving it which was really good considering how much I worried over how I would feel about it once a few months had lapsed. During those months, I looked at a picture of it every night, threw away all my wedding magazines, and stopped watching "Say Yes to the Dress."

I loved my dress so much. I can only hope my daughter will feel the same way one day! :)

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Flowers! Again!? From the sweet man I call my husband! What has happened to the Adam I used to know? Bundles of flowers 2 months in a row! Wow, I'm one lucky lady! :) No, I'm blessed... Thank you God for a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, loving, Godly man! Make that SO blessed!

2011 Holiday Season...Only Because I Wrote It a While Ago and Never Posted It

As you can tell from the title, this is indeed a very delayed post. I actually wrote it a few weeks ago and never got around to posting it because I didn't have the pictures with me. Anyway, I thought I'd do one big update about our holidays shenanigans. I'll try to make it short. So here goes!

Going way back to Thanksgiving...
Adam and I were SO blessed to be able to spend Thanksgiving with both of our families this year! When we were just a dating couple, we never spent Thanksgiving together because our families both celebrated on Thanksgiving day at the same time. So, we typically went our separate ways, but we knew when we got married this was certain to become an issue. We had already discussed that we would alternate years once we were married since trying to do both in a day would be impossible considering my family is in Panama City. I had already accepted that we would spend Thanksgiving with Adam's family this year since his birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day. Luckily, some things came up with his family and they decided Friday would be better for them. I was so happy! Since Adam was with my family on his birthday, we made sure it was special! Complete with one nephew attempting to blow out the candle and the other nephew busting my Granny's lip at the end of the video. Don't you love family birthdays?

These pictures are from Adam's family Thanksgiving on his Mom's (Williams) side of the family. These are all of the cousins' kids. I LOVE this picture! That's 10 boys and 1 girl!
After Thanksgiving, the Christmas holidays quickly followed...
Adam's grandfather Harris passed away just before Christmas. Despite his passing, the family decided to continue on with Christmas as usual. I don't have pictures from the day, but it was a wonderful day of celebration. I think his grandmother enjoyed the company.

My mom's birthday is December 10th, so my Dad and I (with the help of my brothers) planned a surprise dinner in Auburn for her. Adam and I drove from Clay County and Nick and Abigail drove from Atlanta. She thought just her and my Dad were eating with Chris and Rachel which is not out of the ordinary for them to drive to Auburn for the night...They love to see those grand babies.
Next, we celebrated Christmas early this year with my immediate family since Santa Claus now comes to visit my nephews on Christmas Day.
The next morning on the 23rd, we made the annual trip to Panama City to celebrate with my extended families.

The morning after that on Christmas Eve, we trekked our way back to Clay County so we could exchange gifts with one another and have breakfast with Adam's family on Christmas morning. This was our 1st Christmas tree!
And lastly on New Years Eve, one of my very best friends since kindergarten, Jeni, got married! By looking at the pictures, you would think it was a summer wedding. The weather was amazing. Some of us even started to sweat a little while we were outside taking pictures. It was a beautiful day and beautiful wedding! Everything was truly perfect.
In reference to my last post about the flowers from Adam...In between all of these events, I stayed with my parents so I could work during my time off from rotations at the pharmacy in Troy while he stayed in Clay County. Why Troy? Good question. I work at Wal-Mart and have tried to be transferred somewhere closer to Clay County, but have had no success thus far. Anyway, I think it is safe to say he missed me while I was away. I think at some point he even said he would pay me what I would make working in Troy if I just wouldn't go. I think I might take him up on that next time...if there is a next time!

Just ONE of MANY Reasons

This is just one of a million reasons why I love my dearest husband...

A dozen red roses! Sent to my work to cheer me up after a report that I have been feeling a little down over the last few days...and probably because we haven't seen each other except once in about 2 weeks. I've been out of town. More on that later in the "2011 Holiday Season" post.

Anyway, these were a HUGE surprise and I love them! Adam never plans sweet surprises, but I guess I can't say that now. Think he misses me? I hope so, because I sure miss him! I'm so ready to get home tomorrow to see my sweet husband!
